Rush Events

What is Rush?

Rush is the process by which students engage in social and professional settings for the purpose of getting to know chapter members as well as chapter members getting to know potential brothers.

What can I expect from Rush?

During Rush, you will meet a lot of people. There are three different rush events, each with its own focus. For Info Night, the purpose is primarily to provide you with information on Alpha Kappa Psi and our chapter. At the end, you will have a chance to meet current chapter members, as well as alumni. The second night provides a casual setting at Woodstock’s Pizza where you can talk with current members and see a more social side of our chapter. For Professional Night, the main focus will be on professional development and what our chapter has to offer in terms of networking with Brothers, as well as Alumni. After these three nights are completed, there is a mandatory interview, similar to that of a job interview.

How can I make the most out of Rush?

1. Attend as many events as possible! Although going to all Rush events is not mandatory, the more Brothers can recognize you and remember information about you, the better!

2. Try not to spend too much time speaking with a particular Brother. It is best to spend about 10-15 minutes with each Brother so that you may get to know others.

3. Dress to impress!

4. Think about why you are rushing. Do you think that AKPsi is right for you? Are you ready to grow and develop professionally so that you will be more marketable to businesses? Can you imagine being a part of the Fraternity?

What are the minimum requirements of Rush?

1. As mentioned above, try to attend as many Rush events as possible. The more the better!

2. Prepare a resume, which should be sent to membership@davisakpsi.com by midnight of October 8th.
