Congratulations to Dawnisha, Alan, Timmy, Faima, Thomas, Roger, Kanna, Thien, Ellen, and Christopher for crossing into Alpha Kappa Psi.

Alpha Kappa Psi duked it out this Sunday against other Davis professional fraternities in this fall’s Bi-Annual Professional Fraternity Games. The tournament consists of basketball, football, and a relay race. After several hard fought games, we came out on top as the champions of the tournament. After everything, we all had a great time playing and meeting members from other fraternities. We would also like to thank Delta Sigma Pi for hosting the games.

Trick or Treat! On the Friday of Halloween, the brothers of Alpha Kappa Psi volunteered at the Davis Downtown Halloween Festival. We all had a great time helping children decorate their own trick or treat bags. More pictures after the jump.

Thanks to all who came out to this year’s Networking for Success. We had a great turn out with over 50 students and eight companies participating. We hope that you enjoyed the event and was able to take much away from it. Be sure to check back to our website often to get updates on upcoming events. Friday marks the conclusion to this year’s Fall 2008 Rush. Thanks for coming out and showing so much interest in Alpha Kappa Psi. For those who have completed interviews, you will be notified of our decision by this Sunday.

There are still spaces available for next Tuesday’s Networking for Success. It is a networking oppurtunity hosted by Alpha Kappa Psi open and available to all students who are interested. It is a great chance to meet representatives from various representatives from fortune 500 companies. Last weekend the brothers of Alpha Kappa Psi volunteered their time to help fund raise during the UC Davis Aggies vs. Northern Colorado Bears football game. The brothers had a great time working at the Carl’s Jr concession stand serving food to hungry fans. Thanks to all those who participated in our fundraiser!

Alpha Kappa Psi presents our 5th Annual Networking for Success on Tuesday, October 14th 2008 from 6pm to 9pm at the ARC Ballroom.

For Networking for Success, Alpha Kappa Psi invites different Fortune 500 companies and state agencies to the event, and each company/agency sits at a different table.  Similar to a “speed dating” format, groups of students will get to sit down with a recruiter for about 15 minutes, and the groups will switch off to speak with a different recruiter. This format makes for a much more personal recruiting process, as the students will get the opportunity to speak with the recruiters on a more personal level. There will be internship and job opportunities available!
